A sweet couple. Conversations about Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber’s relationship started in late 2021, and things have only gotten hotter ever since.
After being seen attending a yoga class together in December 2021, Butler and Gerber first fueled relationship speculations. The couple was dating at the time, a source exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly, adding, “It’s still very new.”
When they made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Met Gala five months later, the actor and the model accomplished a significant feat. While the Nickelodeon alum wore an all-black Prada suit to the event, Gerber wore an Alexander McQueen glittering gown to honor the Gilded Age theme.
The pair previously garnered media attention with their respective ex-partners before beginning their relationship. Us reported Gerber’s breakup with Jacob Elordi one month before she was linked to Butler. First connected in September 2020, the ex-couples dated for a full year before calling it quits.
Later, the Euphoria actor pondered on his time spent with Gerber. In a December 2021 interview with Men’s Health, the Australian native said of the American Horror Stories actress, “She handles herself wonderfully publicly,” adding that he had “learned so much” from her about dealing with celebrity. “[She] taught me] how to deal with it and just kind of be whatever about it, you know?”
Gerber also commended Elordi for altering her perspective on dating. “Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don’t want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that, has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions,” the California native remarked to Vogue in May 2021. “Lust is wanting to touch other people or touching them, but love is really seeing someone.”
According to Cindy Crawford’s daughter, her hectic work had an impact on how she perceived love. According to Gerber, “I’ve been in situations where I’ve felt like I don’t actually have the life experience I need to handle this.” I was working during fashion month, but I was still rather young and had only kissed one person. I had never been in a relationship of any kind in high school.
In January 2020, Gerber and Pete Davidson were briefly linked. Gerber said she ended herself dating “older people” as a result of her lifestyle. “I was put in situations where I would wake up one day and wonder how I got there. I need help because I have no idea what I’m doing, she continued. And it was wonderful to be able to seek that assistance. To ask questions without being afraid is what it means to truly grow up.
Butler, on the other hand, previously dated Vanessa Hudgens for nine years. We announced the breakup of the duo in January 2020. The Carrie Diaries actor lauded his ex-girlfriend’s influence on his profession after the couple broke up.
Butler, who will portray Elvis Presley in a planned biopic, said to Vogue in April 2022, “I was actually driving up through Griffith Park, and Elvis’s ‘Blue Christmas’ came on.” Butler also mentioned a talk with Hudgens to Vogue. My friend had a sort of insight when I was singing along: “You should play Elvis.”

Rande Gerber, Crawford, and Presley Gerber joined Butler and Gerber for a pre-New Year’s vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It was mentioned earlier this month that Kaia stood by Butler as he made his Saturday Night Live hosting debut.

Gerber and Butler got together to celebrate Butler’s stunning Golden Globes victory as Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama. The duo kissed before leaving with each other later in the evening and was spotted cuddling up at multiple afterparties.
Butler, who grew close to the Presleys while filming Elvis, attended the memorial service for Lisa Marie Presley at Graceland on January 22. Photos acquired by the Daily Mail show the former Nickelodeon star and Gerber entering the service hand-in-hand.
